Tracking Cycling World Cup: Britain's Katie Archibald & Eleanor Dickinson win madison gold

Great Britain won four medals on the final day of the Track World Cup in Canada, as Katie Archibald and Eleanor Dickinson took gold in the madison.It was Olympic team pursuit champion Archibald’s second gold of the weekend, after winning day one’s points race.Ollie Wood, Jack Carlin and Katy Marchant won their first ever individual World Cup medals.

Wood won silver in the omnium, Carlin took men’s sprint bronze and Marchant won silver in the keirin.The event in Milton is the third of five World Cup rounds this season.Sophie Capewell and Marchant were edged out of a medal by South Korea in the team sprint.Double Olympic team sprint champion Philip Hindes lost in the quarter-finals of the men’s sprint to New Zealand’s Ethan Mitchell.On Saturday, Britain’s team sprint trio of Carlin, Hindes and Callum Skinner won silver while Dickinson claimed bronze in the omnium and Wood and Mark Stewart took bronze in the madison.Stewart had already won silver in the men’s points race on the opening day.Wales’ Lewis Oliva also won silver in the keirin.
