The Cumbria Clock Company says it is “quite a challenge” to repair Liverpool’s iconic Royal Liver Building clock. The clock faces are the largest in the UK and the minute hand alone is 14ft (4m) long. It is being repaired at a base in Dacre near Penrith. Big Ben in London is also undergoing major repair work, which is expected to last until 2021.
